If the UN Human Rights Office refuses to make public its court position that it is somehow obliged to hand names of dissidents to Beijing, despite this being against UN rules, or even the Deputy High Commissioner’s alternative position (here) that the Chief of the Human Rights Council Branch has an absolute right to choose to transmit anyone’s name without that person’s knowledge or consent, it is important that that policy is public knowledge so that people can assess danger. The UN has never published the policy anywhere, despite now consistently admitting it was in place since 2006.

My case first went public, via an unauthorised leak, in February 2017. I have spoken to the press since the UN lied in a press release issued on 2 February 2017. My UN contract has been renewed twice since then. I am telling the truth, but the UN cannot get its story straight (see cover-up tab): When UN spokespeople receive one question, they deny any names were ever transmitted. If there is a follow-up question, the UN claims “historical” practice, without providing any evidence of it having stopped to counter its on-the-record position that it continued in 2017 and in 2019. When the journalist has too much evidence and reverts again, the UN suddenly claims my court cases prevent comment. They do not, as I have repeatedly made clear.
